In thispaper, the experimental investigations of the effect of diesel-biodiesel-acetoneemulsion fuels on the performance and emissions of a direct injection diesel enginehave been reported. The tests were conducted on one-cylinder naturally aspiratedcompression ignition engine operated at 1600 rpm. Measured characteristics weretorque, power, brake thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption, exhaust gastemperature, and exhaust gases of CO, CO2, unburned hydrocarbons (UHC), NO,and O2.The obtained results show that the torque, power, and Break Thermal Energywere increased when we compare the engine operation with pure diesel fuel.Additionally, the specific fuel consumption and engine exhaust gas temperature werereduced. The CO, UHC, and soot emissions were decreased. However, the NOemission was increased.
